Presentation of Drago Jančar's book In ljubezen tudi in Passa Porta

The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Brussels, in cooperation with the renowned Passa Porta organized an evening with Slovenian writer Drago Jančar at the occasion of translation of his book In ljubezen tudi in Dutch - En ook de liefde

In an in-depth interview with Karen Billiet, literary critic at De Standaard der Letteren and editor of the online magazine Klara he introduced his latest book In ljubezen tudi (En ook de liefde), which was translated by Dutch translator Roel Schuyt and published by the renowned Querido publishing house.

In well visited event at Passa Porta the writer read an extract from his book in Slovene language by the poet, editor and translator Boris A. Novak, and former European commissioner Janez Potočnik. The translator Roel Schuyt, who has already translated four authors' works, read the same passage in Dutch. He also answered some questions regarding the translation of Jančar's literature and about translation in general.

The visit of Drago Jančar in Brussels was part of a tour that, with the support of Querido publishing house, ran from Graz, Frankfurt and Marburg an der Lahn to the Belgian capital. His return to the Passa Porta, where he was a resident writer in 2011, is also a result of a successful presentation at last year's Brussels Book Fair.

Ambassador dr. Rado Genorio, together with his spouse Mersija Genorio, hosted a dinner with the writer and the Embassy provided a reception with Slovenian wine and champagne.
